Sometimes you just have a better idea. We’ve purchased a new web address for the business. We’ll be moving it over in the next few days. It’s only been a little more than a month since this website was established so it isn’t as big a deal to move it over as it could have been if we’d had 100 pages or more. That would have been a huge undertaking.

This new business website name: neblogdesign.com is more representative than the old name which was purchased originally to do recipes. It is too confusing for our potential customers. Although we had fun mixing metaphors and coming up with catchy phrases to go with the name of Web Chowder Design it’s already time to move on. So say goodbye to chowder-recipes.com and welcome in neblogdesign.com. ‘New England Blog Design’ is here to stay!

‘Landscape New England’ is a web project concentrating on the niche market of New England Landscaping. It will be exploring every aspect of landscaping design, construction and maintenance including lawns, gardens, hardscape and more. Some of the topics being focused on:

• Climate and Zone – Location of property, state, town
• Rural, Suburban, Urban, Common Space Backyards
• Type of space. Owned, Rented, Common Space?
• Property evaluations and inventory; space requirements and access for landscaping projects
• Terrain – water? hillside? location to the sun? shaded or not?
• Soil conditions
• Fertilizing and environmental impact
• Lawn installation and restoration; Lawn traffic patterns and usage.
• Structures in the landscape; Condition of existing structures
• Lifestyle & family usage assessments
• Maintenance – lawns, gardens and general landscape
• Garden projects including Theme Gardens
• Landcaping accents like stonewalls, retaining walls, fences, gates, walks, stairs and decks.
• Trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, groundcovers, mulches
• Maintenance or construction equipment
• The 1-5-10-15 year master plan
• Environmental and zoning issues
• Irrigation and Lighting
• Wordpress Web Design and Social Media Marketing for Landscape Professionals
• How to articles and article submissions
• Lots more

This will be an extensive and ongoing project and it will grow with time. The target date to officially launch the project is April of 2010.
